Prime Minister of Jamaica
|
The Prime Minister of Jamaica is Jamaica's head of government, currently Percival Patterson.
As is the case with most democratic nations that follow the Westminster system of the parliamentary system, the Jamaican Prime Minister is usually the leader of the majority party in the lower house of parliament, the Jamaican House of Representatives.
The Prime Minister is formally appointed into office by the nation's Governor General, who represents Elizabeth II, the Queen of Jamaica.
