Port Arthur

Port Arthur is the name of some places:
- Old Western name for Lüshunkou (a.k.a. Lushun), now only a part of the ice-free seaport city Dalian on the Liaodong Peninsula (former Liaotung peninsula) in the south of Manchuria (China). Site of The (Naval) Battle of Port Arthur (February 9, 1904 the opening battle of the Russo-Japanese War and the long Siege of Port Arthur which then followed. (See also Battle of Port Arthur). Dalian (See for geopolitical Map) is strategically located just north and west of the Korean Peninsula juction with mainland Manchuria in the province of Liaoning (Map 2).
- Port Arthur, Ontario, a city in Ontario, Canada, became part of Thunder Bay in 1970.
