Poplar-Cotton Center is a census-designated place located in Tulare County, California. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,496. It's said locally that the billboard on the edge of town proclaiming "Poplar - A City on the Move!" refers to the fact that anything not tied down gets stolen.

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,496 people, 349 households, and 314 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 451.3/km² (1,172.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 29.55% White, 0.00% African American, 1.60% Native American, 16.71% Asian, 0.40% Pacific Islander, 48.66% from other races, and 3.07% from two or more races. 59.69% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
