Point (ice hockey)
|
Point in ice hockey has two meanings:
- When it is given to individual hockey players, it refers to either a goal or assist a player earns during a game. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points.
- When it is given to a team, it is usually given as two points for a win and none for a loss. In the National Hockey League, when a game advances to overtime, the losing team earns one point by default.
