Plymouth is a village located in Huron and Richland counties in Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,852.
Plymouth was formerly the headquarters of the Plymouth Locomotive Works, a builder of industrial railroad locomotives. The factory closed in 1999.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.8 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.7 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.89% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,852 people, 678 households, and 536 families residing in the village. The population density is 322.1/km² (834.4/mi²). There are 744 housing units at an average density of 129.4/km² (335.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.16% White, 0.22% African American, 0.11% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.59% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. 1.03% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 678 households out of which 40.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% are married couples living together, 13.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.8% are non-families. 18.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.73 and the average family size is 3.09.
In the village the population is spread out with 31.0% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
