|
Pilliga is a small village in northern New South Wales.
It is located in the Pilliga Forest, also known as the Pilliga Scrub, an area mainly covered by native pine trees, supporting a rich assortment of bird life and a significant timber harvesting industry.
The Pilliga Pines are small trees adapted to growing in dry conditions. The wood is resistant to termites.
The book A Million Wild Acres by Eric Rolls provides extensive information about the history and environment of the Pilliga area.
