Pierre Louys (1870 - 1925) was a French author, writer and poet.
He used lesbian themes in many of his poems. The 20th Century lesbian-oriented homophile association the Daughters of Bilitis is named for his 1894 compilation The Songs of Bilitis.
Other important works were the play Aphrodite, and the novel La femme et le pantin, which inspired Luis Buñuel's film That Obscure Object of Desire.
