Piecki-Migowo is one of the quarters of the city of Gdansk, Poland which consists of 2 parts: Piecki and Migowo. Populated by 23,593 inhabitants in an area 3.8 kmē (population density 6,224). Piecki-Migowo together are popularly called The Morena and are located on the top of the hill over 100 meters above sea level, that used to be an example of Arcadian nature. Nevertheless, it is an example of multi-story housing estate that failed to properly use the beauty of the landscape.
The housing estate was built in the second half of 1970's and 1980's. The construction areas are slowly extended to the area of the former military poligoons. Prevailing type of new housing are family houses or small buildings.
The Morena is charactarized by a very cold and extremely windy climate in sharp contrast with neighbouring areas of Gdansk. However, the pollution in the atmosphere is virtually nonexistent due to the sea breeze of over 40 km per hour.
The hill is connected by convenient bicycle route with Wrzeszcz.
