Pharos is:
- The name of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, as well the island off the Egyptian coast at the port of Alexandria on which the lighthouse was erected.
- The etymological origin of the word lighthouse in many Romance languages, such as French (phare), Italian (faro) and Spanish (faro)
- The ancient name for the island of Hvar in the Adriatic off the Dalmatian coast of modern Croatia, as well as the name of the original Greek colony, and it's capital city (modern Stari Grad). It was the stronghold of Demetrius of Pharos.
