Parthiv Patel

Parthiv Ajay Patel (born March 9, 1985) is a former Indian cricketer (wicketkeeper-batsman) and member of the Indian national cricket team. He was born in Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
He made his test debut against England at Nottingham and ODI debut against New Zealand at Queenstown in January 2003. Incidentally, his first fist-class match was also his first test match.
In 2004, in the away test series against arch rivals Pakistan, he was reported for excessive appealing in the 2nd test match and was fined for it.
After repeated poor performances with the gloves, he was dropped from the Indian National squad to give way for M.S.Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik in the Indian one day and test teams respectively in 2005.
