Padre Alberto

Alberto Curie (born 1969), better known as Padre Alberto, is a Catholic priest of Cuban descent, whose fame transcended the Catholic faith. He was ordained as a Catholic priest at St. Patrick's Church in Miami in 1995.
Padre Alberto gained much fame with his television debut in 1999 as host of a talk show (also named Padre Alberto). He gained so much popularity that, despite the fact he was in Telemundo and Cristina Saralegui was with Univision, she had an article about him in her magazine, Cristina, la Revista.
In July 2003, Padre Alberto was interviewed at a local Miami television show. Later that same month, he officiated at Celia Cruz's Miami funeral (Cruz was buried in New Jersey, but she had requested her body to be taken on tour upon her death, and Padre Alberto oversaw Miami's ceremony).
Padre Alberto often jokes that people call him either Father Springer or Father Oprah.
