Olongapo City is a highly urbanized city in the province of Zambales in the Philippines.
It administers itself autonomously from Zambales. Adjacent to the city is the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, which until 1992 was a U.S. naval base. The naval presence in Olongapo City and Subic Bay was the subject of a controversial book published by Robert Clark Young in 1999.
