Olmito is a census-designated place located in Cameron County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,198.
Geography
Olmito is located at 26°1'11" North, 97°32'5" West (26.019655, -97.534690)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.90% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,198 people, 303 households, and 270 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 690.4/km² (1,787.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.25% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.34% from other races, and 0.42% from two or more races. 96.49% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
