Susan Olivia Poole (1889-1975) grew up in Minnesota at the White Earth Indian Reserve.She married a Canadian in 1908 and became a mother of seven children. She came up with the idea of the jolly jumper in 1910,after the birth of her first child, but it was not until 40 years later that she and her husband began manufacturing the baby bouncing delight in North Vancouver. By 1954, the Jolly Jumper was a patented idea and became a huge success with parents everywhere.
