Octamer

An octamer is a short chain polymer with eight repeating units. A monomer has one unit e.g., X, a dimer has two units, X-X, and a trimer has three units, X-X-X. An octomer could be written as X-X-X-X-X-X-X-X. or alternatively the chain could be branched.
