Ocean Grove is a census-designated place located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As of 2002, the CDP had a total population of 4,316.
Ocean Grove is located on the New Jersey shore south of Asbury Park. Ocean Grove was formed by the Methodist church as a summer retreat. The two blocks from the beach largely contain small guest houses and hotels as well as private homes in the Victorian style. The one-block business district is packed with many shops and cafes.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²). 0.9 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.00% water.
Demographics
As of 2002, there are 4,316 people, 2,431 households, and 1285 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 4,564.6/km² (11,956.5/mi²). There are 3,156 housing units at an average density of 3,384.8/km² (8,866.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.14% White, 3.95% African American, 0.09% Native American, 0.96% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.92% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. 3.62% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,331 households out of which 10.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 23.6% are married couples living together, 7.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 66.3% are non-families. 56.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.67 and the average family size is 2.59.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 9.9% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 33.5% from 25 to 44, 26.4% from 45 to 64, and 24.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 45 years. For every 100 females there are 82.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 81.1 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $31,935, and the median income for a family is $58,583. Males have a median income of $38,389 versus $31,886 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $26,232. 13.3% of the population and 5.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 12.0% of those under the age of 18 and 5.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
