History

Philadelphia Northeast Airport opened to commercial aviation in June 1945. Three years later, its name was changed to North Philadelphia Airport, and in 1980 it was changed to Northeast Philadelphia Airport.
There has been no scheduled commercial service at Northeast Philadelphia Airport since the mid-1990s, when TWA ended its TWE commuter air service.
