North Falmouth is a census-designated place and village located in the town of Falmouth in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 3,355.
Geography
North Falmouth is located at 41°38'41" North, 70°37'50" West (41.644588, -70.630447)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 17.3 km² (6.7 mi²). 10.2 km² (4.0 mi²) of it is land and 7.0 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 40.63% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,355 people, 1,364 households, and 975 families residing in the village. The population density is 327.9/km² (848.4/mi²). There are 2,393 housing units at an average density of 233.9/km² (605.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 95.95% White, 1.04% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.83% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.92% from other races, and 1.10% from two or more races. 0.92% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,364 households out of which 26.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.7% are married couples living together, 7.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.5% are non-families. 25.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.84.
