Niverville is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in Columbia County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 1,737.
Niverville is located in the Town of Kinderhook and is the seat of town government.
Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the area has a total area of 8.8 km² (3.4 mi²). 7.5 km² (2.9 mi²) of it is land and 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 15.25% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,737 people, 682 households, and 476 families residing in the hamlet. The population density is 232.1/km² (601.9/mi²). There are 837 housing units at an average density of 111.8/km² (290.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.10% White, 0.52% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.23% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. 0.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 682 households out of which 33.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.2% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.1% are non-families. 23.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.53 and the average family size is 3.02.
In the community the population is spread out with 24.7% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 26.9% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who are 65 years of age or older.
