Solid Steel
Matt Black & Jonathon Moore began producing a radio show on London's Kiss FM in 1988. The show was known for airing "The Broadest Beats in London". The were later joined by PC and Strictly Kev of DJ Food. The two hour show was filled by improv, with each DJ taking sets of 30 minutes. In 1997 Darren Knott, otherwise known as DK, joined the show as producer as Coldcut and DJ Food were increasingly away on tour. They left Kiss after playlist changes meant they would fill the Tuesday 2am-4am graveyard slot. The show was still recorded each week being available online and syndicated worldwide. In 1999 they were offered a slot on BBC's London Live and had a show where they weren't interupted by adverts. The show is no longer broadcast over the radio in the UK but is available on the internet and is still syndicated worldwide. There are rumors that the show will appear on Resonance FM in London in the near future.
The show often featured guest interviews and mixes. Interviews included:
- David Axlerod - 2001
- Ken Nordine - 2000
- Jean Jacques Perry - 1997
- Quannum Projects - 2000
- Juan Atkins - 1990
