Newdigate prize

Sir Roger Newdigate's Prize is awarded to students of the University of Oxford for Best Composition in English verse by an undergraduate who has not yet been in attendance at Oxford for four years since his or her date of admittance. It was founded by Sir Roger Newdigate in the 18th century.
Notable winners have included John Ruskin, Matthew Arnold, Laurence Binyon, Oscar Wilde, John Buchan, and Alan Hollinghurst.
