New Buffalo is a city located in Berrien County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,200.

Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,200 people, 947 households, and 603 families residing in the city. The population density is 351.0/km² (910.4/mi²). There are 1,426 housing units at an average density of 227.5/km² (590.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.64% White, 0.41% African American, 0.23% Native American, 0.50% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 1.27% from other races, and 0.91% from two or more races. 2.86% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 947 households out of which 24.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.8% are married couples living together, 9.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.3% are non-families. 30.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
