National Hunt racing

National Hunt racing (also known as as jump racing) is horse racing over obstacles called hurdles or fences . It is less glamorous than its counterpart flat racing and in the United Kingdom mainly takes place between October and April.
The home of National Hunt Racing in the UK is Cheltenham, where the Gold Cup is held anually in March.
Types of race
- Steeplechase -
- Hurdling -
- run over distances of 2 - 3 1/2 miles.
- over obstacles called hurdles that are a minimum of 3 1/2 feet high
- Bumper races
- are flat races for horses that have not yet competed in either flat racing or National Hunt racing.
