Naniwa

Naniwa (Japanese: なにわ, 難波, 浪速, 浪花) is an old name of Osaka, Osaka prefecture, Japan. It is still used in some modern contexts. For example, license plates of automobiles registered in the city of Osaka display "Naniwa" whereas those registered in Osaka Prefecture but outside of the city display "Osaka."

Naniwa (浪速区) is also the name for a ward in Osaka.
