Globular Cluster M5

Globular Cluster M5 (also known as Messier Object 5, Messier 5, M5, or NGC 5904) is a globular cluster in the Serpens constellation. It was discovered by Gottfried Kirch in 1702. M5 is at a distance of about 24,500 light-years away from Earth and contains more than 100,000 stars; of which more than 100 are known to be variable.
