Music of Anguilla

Template:BritishCaribbeanmusic
Anguilla is best known as part of a wave of Caribbean islands that began producing calypso and related Trinidadian genres, in many cases becoming more popular than artists from the genres' homeland. King Short Shirt's "Tourist Leggo" from 1977 was so close to winning the Road March Carnival contest on Trinidad that the organizers banned foreigners from entering the contest. Burning Flames and Swallow are also famous musicians from Anguilla. Perhaps the most famous musician from Anguilla and who is also considered among the Caribbean's most acclaimed recording artists is Bankie Banx. Banx has released over ten albums and has played with such music legands such as Bob Dylan, Jimmy Cliff and Jimmy Buffett.
