Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,250 people, 583 households, and 378 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 21.6/km² (56.0/mi²). There are 2,994 housing units at an average density of 51.8/km² (134.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 95.92% White, 0.32% Black or African American, 0.80% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.20% from other races, and 1.52% from two or more races. 5.68% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 583 households out of which 16.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% are married couples living together, 2.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% are non-families. 26.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.14 and the average family size is 2.58.
