Mulholland Drive is a well-known road in Los Angeles, California named after engineer William Mulholland. It is also known as Mulholland Highway.
The road more or less follows the ridgeline of the Santa Monica Mountains and their Hollywood Hills connecting two sections of 101 freeway (and crossing Coldwater Canyon Drive). It offers views of Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley.
Mullholland Drive features in the above-mentioned film, and is mentioned in Tom Petty's Freefalling and R.E.M.'s Electrolite"
