Mount Massive is the second highest peak in Colorado. It was first noted in 1873 during the Hayden Survey of the American West.
Massive is a long but relatively easy climb. The mountain has five summits, all above 14.000 ft (4217 m), and a summit ridge over 3 miles (4.7 km) long. It is located in the Sawatch Range immediately north of Mount Elbert. It is located northwest of Leadville, Colorado.
