Monachus is a genus (and a subgenus of the same name) of the Family Phocidae and the Order Pinnipedia and refers to the various monk seal species throughout the world. These include:
- the Hawaiian monk seal or Monachus schauinslandi
- the Mediterranean monk seal or Monachus monachus
- the Caribbean monk seal or Monachus tropicalis is extinct
