In the United Kingdom, the Department for Transport is the government department responsible for the transport network. The department is run by the Secretary of State for Transport, currently Alistair Darling. It is not to be confused with the Department of Transportation, which is for the United States.
The department for transport has been reorganised a number of times in its history, particularly under the current government, being known as or part of:
- 2002- Department for Transport

- 1976-1997: Department of Transport
