Milaca is a city located in Mille Lacs County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,580. It is the county seat of Mille Lacs County6.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.3 km² (3.2 mi²). 8.3 km² (3.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Milaca is the home of Milaca High School, the Rum River Conference Champions in Football 1982.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,580 people, 1,115 households, and 636 families residing in the city. The population density is 312.3/km² (808.2/mi²). There are 1,164 housing units at an average density of 140.9/km² (364.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.67% White, 0.12% African American, 1.28% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.04% from other races, and 1.71% from two or more races. 0.97% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
