Michigamme is an unincorporated community located in Marquette County, Michigan. It is a Census-designated place (CDP) used for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 287. The community is located within Michigamme Township.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 12.1 km² (4.7 mi²). 6.5 km² (2.5 mi²) of it is land and 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 46.58% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 287 people, 138 households, and 94 families residing in the community. The population density is 44.3/km² (114.7/mi²). There are 271 housing units at an average density of 41.9/km² (108.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 99.30% White, 0.00% African American, 0.70% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 138 households out of which 19.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% are married couples living together, 6.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.2% are non-families. 28.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.08 and the average family size is 2.45.
In the community the population is spread out with 16.4% under the age of 18, 3.5% from 18 to 24, 20.9% from 25 to 44, 37.3% from 45 to 64, and 22.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 50 years. For every 100 females there are 95.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.7 males.
The median income for a household in the community is $27,083, and the median income for a family is $33,438. Males have a median income of $30,833 versus $21,250 for females.
