The Mexican weeping bamboo Otatea acuminata is a clumping bamboo found in Mexico and Central America. It produces thick stands of long narrow leaves.
There are several subspecies and varieties:
- ssp. acuminata
- ssp. aztecorum - the most commonly culivated
- 'Dwarf'
- 'Mayan Silver'
- 'Michoacan'
