Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) is the title given to any one of the 129 individuals elected to serve in the Scottish Parliament. MSPs are elected in one of two ways: (1) that they are returned by the first past the post electoral system to represent an individual constituency (73 are elected in this manner); or (2) that they are returned by the Additional Members System method to represent a region made up of a number of individual constituencies (56 are elected in this manner, across 8 regions of 7 members each).
