Meadow Mariangela Soprano is the daughter of mob boss Tony Soprano in the fictional HBO TV series, The Sopranos and is played by Jamie-Lynn DiScala.
Meadow is the first-born child of Tony and Carmela and is a very smart, attractive and spirited college student attending Columbia University. She does well in her classes and volunteers regularly at the South Bronx Law Center, (located at 161st Street and Brook Avenue in the Melrose section of the Bronx) helping to provide legal assistance to people.
On the other hand, Meadow is often resentful of her lineage, stemming from a string of failed relationships, first with Noah, a fellow student of mixed race (of whom her parents strongly disapproved), and then with Jackie Aprile, Jr., the son of Tony's deceased friend, Jackie Aprile. Jackie Junior was no saint; he cheated on Meadow and shot a made man during a botched robbery. Because of this incident, Jackie Jr. was killed in a mob hit publicized as a drug deal gone bad, a story which Meadow believes.
Just before his death, Meadow came to realize that Jackie was boorish and unfaithful; nevertheless, she was very distressed by his death, ultimately blaming Tony for Jackie's involvement with crime and blaming Carmela for standing by and supporting Tony. The irony is that Tony did everything he could to discourage Jackie's criminal aspirations, having promised Jackie Sr. on his deathbed to see that Jackie Jr. stayed away from the mob life.
Meadow's third boyfriend is a Columbia dental student named Finn DeTrullio; their relationship is rather shaky and Finn is frightened of Meadow's and Tony's mob connections.
Meadow has a decent relationship with her brother, A.J., however. She loves him and although she mostly considers him a screw-up, she always tries to help him out when she can.
