According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 52.0 km² (20.1 mi²). 52.0 km² (20.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,408 people, 585 households, and 379 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 27.1/km² (70.2/mi²). There are 714 housing units at an average density of 13.7/km² (35.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 93.82% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 1.21% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.63% from other races, and 2.13% from two or more races. 8.95% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 585 households out of which 25.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% are married couples living together, 8.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% are non-families. 27.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.41 and the average family size is 2.94.
