Martin Short

Martin Hayter Short CM (born March 26, 1950) is an actor, writer, and producer best known for his comedy work. He was born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
Short has created many memorable characters over the years, most notably Jiminy Glick and Ed Grimley. He perhaps is best known for his work on SCTV and Saturday Night Live.
Short was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 1994.

Family
His father was Charles Short, the vice president of a Canadian car company, who came to North America as a stowaway from Ireland; he died in 1972. His mother Olive was a violinist and a former child prodigy. She was the first female concertmaster in North America. She died of cancer in 1970. His cousin Clare Short is a prominent member of the British Parliament.
His wife is Nancy Dolman Short. They have three kids:
