Martin Freeman (born September 8 1971, Aldershot) is an English actor most famous for playing Tim Canterbury in the BBC's Golden Globe winning comedy The Office. Since leaving Central School of Speech and Drama, Martin has played in at least 18 TV shows, 14 theatre productions, and several radio dramas and comedy series'. [1] (http://www.martinfreeman.com/)
Freeman has also appeared in several films, notably Sacha Baron Cohen's Ali G Indahouse (2002) and Richard Curtis's Love Actually (2003). He plays the lead role as Arthur Dent in the film adaptation of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, released on April 29, 2005.
According to Freeman's official website, designed by his own brother, Jamie Freeman, Martin Freeman is "somewhat left handed." His girl-friend, Amanda Abbington, is also an actress and has appeared in several productoins, such as "Men Only", "Picking Up The Pieces", "The Debt", and "The Robinsons", with Freeman.
