Marlin is a city located in Falls County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,628. It is the county seat of Falls CountyTemplate:GR.

Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 6,628 people, 2,415 households, and 1,509 families residing in the city. The population density is 566.2/km² (1,465.4/mi²). There are 2,826 housing units at an average density of 241.4/km² (624.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 41.84% White, 44.48% African American, 0.27% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 11.62% from other races, and 1.58% from two or more races. 18.30% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,415 households out of which 30.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 35.7% are married couples living together, 22.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% are non-families. 34.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 3.21.
