Scientist
Mark Turner is a linguist, researcher in cognitive science, and author. He is Institute Professor and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. In the past, Turner has been a fellow of the Institute for Advanced Study, the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, the National Humanities Center, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
The Académie française awarded him the Prix du Rayonnement de la langue et de la littérature françaises in 1996.
The work of Gilles Fauconnier and Turner founded the theory of Conceptual blending.
His books include:
