Magcargo (Magukarugo) is the Lava Pokémon, and its type is Fire/Rock. Magcargo was first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver, as Pokémon #219 in the classical Pokédex ordering. Magcargo looks like a slug made out of magma with a rocky shell on its back, hence the rock type. This dual type gives Magcargo an undesirable quadruple weakness to Water and Ground type attacks. It is an evolved form of Slugma, which evolves at level 38 and does not have a Rock type. Magcargo belongs to the Indeterminate egg group.
Because of its weak stats, weaknesses, and move selection (see later sections), it is generally considered one of the worst fully evolved Pokemon.
