M57 motorway

The M57 motorway, also known as the Liverpool Outer Ring Road, is a motorway in England. It is designed as a bypass road for Liverpool.
The M57 motorway links various towns east of Liverpool. Starting at Cronton, the motorway works it's way past Prescot, Stockbridge Village, Kirkby, and Melling, before terminating at Switch Island in the Aintree area of Merseyside. At the Switch Island junction the motorway links with the M58 motorway, and A59 trunk road. The motorway provides one of the main access routes to the world famous Aintree Race Course.
Construction of the motorway was in 2 phases, with phase 1 being completed in 1972, and phase 2 in 1974.
