Lust for Life is a 1956 film about the life of Vincent Van Gogh, based on the 1934 novel by Irving Stone and adapted by Norman Corwin.
It was directed by Vincente Minnelli and George Cukor and produced by John Houseman. It stars Kirk Douglas, Anthony Quinn, James Donald, Pamela Brown and Everett Sloane.
The movie won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Anthony Quinn). It was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Kirk Douglas), Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Color and Best Writing, Best Screenplay - Adapted.
