Luis García Meza Tejada (b. 1932) is a notorious former President of Bolivia. He gained power in 1980 as the result of a so-called "Cocaine Coup" backed by former Nazi officer Klaus Barbie. His government, while extremely brief (it ended in 1981), became internationally known as a center for drug trafficking. He also repressed opposition, and some 1,000 people are estimated to have been killed by the national military during his time in office.
