Earl of Durham

The title of Earl of Durham was created in the Peerage of the United Kingdom in 1833 for John George Lambton, 1st Baron Durham, a prominent Whig politician and author of the famous Report on the Affairs of British North America known in Canada as the Durham Report.
The Earl holds the subsidiary titles of Viscount Lambton (1833) and Baron Durham (1828), both in the Peerage of the UK.
