Longniddry

Longniddry is a village in East Lothian, Scotland, United Kingdom.
The 2001 census recorded a population of 2613. Longniddry is primarily a dormitory town for commuters to Edinburgh, with good transport links by road and rail (on the North Berwick branch line) to the capital. The village is predominently middle-class in character: over 80% of residents own their own homes, and more than a third of people are in professional or managerial occupations.
Longniddry is currently represented on East Lothian Council by the Conservative Councillor Peter Ford.
As of June 2005, Longniddry Community Council comprises 9 members: Stuart Baxter (Vice Chair), Susanne Gilmour, Gillian Mulhern, David Rose (Chair), Neil Stuart, Iain Stewart, Tommy Thomson, Lesley White (Treasurer), and Marilyn Young.
