London Britain Township is a township located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 2,797.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 25.6 km² (9.9 mi²). 25.6 km² (9.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,797 people, 957 households, and 829 families residing in the township. The population density is 109.4/km² (283.4/mi²). There are 979 housing units at an average density of 38.3/km² (99.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.53% White, 0.89% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.93% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 1.18% from two or more races. 1.68% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 957 households out of which 43.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.0% are married couples living together, 3.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 13.3% are non-families. 10.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.92 and the average family size is 3.15.
