The parties
At the 2001 election for the House of Keys, the Labour Party polled 17.3% of the vote and won 2 seats, whilst the APG polled 14.6% and won 3 seats. Independent Labour polled 1.0% and won no seats, whilst Mec Vannin do not contest these elections.
The majority of votes cast and seats won were by independent candidates with no allegiance to any of these parties.
