List of political parties in Kuwait
|
Template:Politics of Kuwait The constitution of the Gulf state of Kuwait does not allow the existence or operation of political parties. Parties have been banned in Kuwait since independence in 1961.
Candidates for election (e.g., to the National Assembly) stand in a personal capacity. In practice, however, several political groups act as de facto parties: Bedouins, merchants, Sunni and Shi'a activists, and secular leftists and nationalists.
